From a Small Village to Times Square: My Journey of Growth and Giving Back
I still remember the days of staring at the night sky in my small village, dreaming of big opportunities but feeling like they were a million miles away. For a long time, New York’s Times Square was just something I had seen in pictures or movies, a place for achievers, far beyond my reach.
Fast forward to today, I’ve had the surreal experience of seeing my journey showcased on the Times Square billboard. And while the moment was special, what makes it meaningful is the story of growth, challenges, and giving back that brought me here.
The Hostel Years: Where Growth Began
My journey of real growth began in the 8th grade, when I left home to attend a boarding school. Living away from family wasn’t easy, but it was the start of something bigger. Over the last 10 years, moving across tier-1 and tier-2 cities in Gujarat, I adapted to new environments, met people from diverse backgrounds, and built lifelong friendships.
Hostels and PGs became classrooms beyond textbooks. I learned how to take initiative, explore new possibilities, and step up when opportunities came my way. More than anything, it taught me adaptability, a skill that continues to define my journey today.
The Power of Giving Back
Through all these experiences, one motto became my compass: “Always give back.”
I started helping juniors, peers, and even strangers wherever I could, whether through mentoring, sharing opportunities, or just being there to support. I never expected anything in return, but the love, encouragement, and gratitude I received kept me going.
This mindset has shaped not just my career, but my identity. Helping others has been my greatest source of strength and motivation.

Recognition at Times Square
When the topmate.io team chose to feature me in their Times Square campaign, it felt like life had come full circle. From dreaming under the stars in my village to seeing my journey lit up on one of the world’s most iconic stages, it was overwhelming and humbling.
But for me, the recognition wasn’t just personal. It symbolized the impact of mentorship, community, and shared growth. The platform gave me the chance to connect with students worldwide, guiding them on careers, studies, and personal development. And in return, I’ve learned just as much from them.
